Promotional Period

The promotion period shall run from 10 July to 31 August 2024 (both dates inclusive), or such other period(s) as may be determined by National Trades Union Congress (“NTUC”) at its absolute discretion (the “Promotion Period”).

Eligibility

You will qualify for the Promotion (“Eligible NTUC Starter member”) if:

1. you are a new NTUC Starter member (as defined below) who has signed up, via the links: https://starter.ntuc.org.sg/membership/join/STARTERONLINE or https://starter.ntuc.org.sg/membership/join/STARTERONLINE during the Promotion Period and whose membership application has been approved before 11:59 PM on 31 August 2024;

Definitions

A “new NTUC Starter member” refers to any person who (i) currently does not hold an existing NTUC Membership, and (ii) is between the ages of 18 to 24 years old at the point of application. Applicants who had cancelled existing NTUC Starter Memberships within the last six (6) months prior to the commencement of the Promotion and re-applied for such facilities under the Promotion are not eligible to participate in the Promotion. Existing NTUC Starter members will not be eligible to participate in the Promotion.

Promotion Mechanics

Eligible Starter members who meet the conditions specified herein will receive the following, subject to these terms and conditions:

1. An Eligible Starter member is entitled to receive:

2. If you are a new NTUC Starter member within the campaign period, you will receive $20 Uniqlo Gift Card if you are shortlisted as one of the first 590 new NTUC Starter members between the Promotion Period. You are only allowed to receive 1 x $20 Uniqlo gift card for signing up under this Promotion.
3. If you are shortlisted as one of the first 590 new NTUC Starter members between the Promotion Period, you will receive a confirmation email from [email protected] within 5 working days from membership approval. NTUC shall allow successful applicants to collect the $20 Uniqlo gift card in-person at NTUC Centre, between 26 to 30 September 2024, 1 month from the end of the Promotion Period. Notwithstanding anything stated herein, NTUC shall not be liable for any delay in the process for any reason whatsoever (including without limitation, delay due to incorrect information in the system or due to system constraints and errors). Any request to reschedule collection of the gift card shall not be entertained.
4. Refund of the NTUC Starter Membership shall not be entertained or allowed.
5. NTUC reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to determine whether a transaction qualifies as a successful membership application under the Promotion. If NTUC in its sole and absolute discretion decides that any transaction is not to be considered a valid transaction, the promotion benefits will not be awarded.
6. Subject to the fulfilment of all the conditions specified in these terms and conditions to the absolute satisfaction of NTUC, the relevant promotion benefits will be credited.
7. The $20 Uniqlo gift card(s) will be distributed before 11:59PM on 30 September 2024.
8. The Promotion shall not apply in conjunction with any other privileges or promotions.
9. NTUC reserves the right and at any time at its absolute discretion and without giving any reason or notice to withdraw, clawback, cancel and/or invalidate any benefits awarded to any participant without liability. A participant of the Promotion Period (“participant”) will not be entitled to any payment or compensation whatsoever in respect of such withdrawal, clawback, cancellation or invalidation.
10. • NTUC reserves the right to clawback any of the benefits or compensate the equivalent value of the benefits if the Eligible NTUC Starter member closes his/her Eligible membership account during, or within six (6) months from the end of, the Promotion Period. If any Eligible NTUC Starter member is subsequently discovered to be ineligible to participate in the Promotion or to receive the promotion benefits, NTUC reserves the right to (i) withdraw the promotion benefits at any time; or (ii) request the relevant participant to repay to or compensate NTUC the value of the promotion benefits at any time. No person shall be entitled to any payment or compensation from NTUC should any promotion benefits be withdrawn, if any promotion benefits is reclaimed by NTUC, or if a participant is asked to repay to or compensate NTUC the value of the promotion benefits for whatsoever reasons.

General

1. The eligibility of any Eligible Starter member to participate in this Promotion and/or receive any promotion benefits shall be determined at the absolute discretion of NTUC.
2. NTUC reserves the right at its absolute discretion to terminate the Promotion or vary, delete, or add to any of these terms and conditions at any time without notice including without limitation, the eligibility of any customer and the dates of the Promotion.
3. NTUC shall not be responsible for the quality, merchantability, or fitness for any purpose or any other aspect of the Promotion, or any product and/or service relating to the Promotion. Notwithstanding anything herein, NTUC shall not at any time be responsible or held liable for any defect or malfunction in any product or the deficiency in any service provided, and/or any loss, injury, damage, or harm suffered or incurred by or in connection with the Promotion, and/or the use of any product and/or service relating to the Promotion, by any person.
4. NTUC’s decisions on all matters relating to the Promotion shall be final and binding on all participants. No correspondence or appeal shall be entertained by NTUC. In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any brochure, marketing, or promotional material relating to the Promotion, these terms and conditions shall prevail.
5. NTUC shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to any person in connection with the Promotion howsoever arising, including any error in computing chances, any breakdown or malfunction in any computer system or equipment, or any notice which is misdirected or lost in the post or in transmission.
6. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Singapore and each participant in the Promotion irrevocably submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore. A person who is not a party to any agreement governed by these terms and conditions shall have no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce any of these terms and conditions.
